3 Tips on Wearing a Canadian Tuxedo

Double the denim, double the fun. That's a saying, right? I like to believe that the Canadian tuxedo is as timeless as the LBD. When I think of denim ensembles. two images immediately rush to my brain. Justin Timberlake and Britney in their matching denim prom date getup and Jay Leno. Swoon to both amiright?!

Unfortunately, we all can't look as effortless in the blue hue as ol' Jay so here are some tips to keep in mind while sporting a Canadian tuxedo:

1. Go for different shades. The mixture of a light and darker shade of denim just makes it more interesting and will prevent you from looking like a bad attempt at a matching suit. 

2. Keep your accessories simple. You're wearing double denim, let's not overshadow the masterpiece. 

3. Add one item of visual interest. Whether it's a leather bomber, statement heels, or the "I don't give a tuck" half shirt tuck, be bold and own it.

Bama Nights

My vacation in Alabama thus far has presented me with many glorious things; 2 back to back days of t-shirt weather, massive meal portions, and a woman hanging out with a shower cap on. What more can a girl want.

What's black and white and strolling Halifax in the sunshine? No, a zebra didn't let loose, it was me! Although seeing a zebra would have been too awesome.

White denim is a no-brainer for Spring. This is not breaking news. Throw on a blazer and take white denim right into the office. Don't want to be too boring with classic pumps? Then don't! Who said office style couldn't have some edge to it?

Reginald Magazine: Heavy Petal Event

Last week, I attended Reginald Magazine's 'Heavy Petal' spring event. Reginald is a locally started magazine with the objective of putting Halifax, Nova Scotia on the fashion map. Fashion isn't just for big cities, we can compete with the best of 'em!

A last minute outfit change left me with a coral shorts suit and a whole bunch of rings.

Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and just had to make do with my iPhone.
