Product Review: Biore Baking Soda

I'm guilty of a lot of things lately. Hitting snooze one too many times, eating six burgers the past three days, and sleeping with my makeup on. All has been effecting my skin. So when Influenster sent me a package of Biore products to test, I was really excited. I've been using these products for a little over a month now. Here are my thoughts!

Baking Soda Pore Cleanser

Use: Twice a day, once in the morning and once at night

Pros: It was gentle enough for daily use. The exfoliating beads weren't too harsh and reduced skin flakiness. I always get dry skin patches during the winter months and I have found that they have significantly reduced since I've started using the cleanser.

Cons: This could be an oversight on my part but I couldn't figure out how to lock the top again. I was travelling and couldn't figure out how to lock it so I can take it with me. I also typically like a cleanser than helps with breakouts as well, which this didn't do.

Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub

Use: Weekly

Pros: Good when you need that extra squeaky clean feel or you can use a spot treatment to dry up a breakout.

Cons:  It definitely needs trial and error to figure out just how much powder vs. water you need to get the best use of the product. I wish the package dispensed a certain amount of powder to make the process easier.. I wouldn't suggest using this product more than once or twice a week as it can be rather harsh and drying.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

3 Items, 2 Minutes, 1 Instant Outfit

I'm a huge fan of streamlining. But sometimes, you are just too sleepy to lay out your outfit the night before your work day. This is why it's important to have some go-to pieces in your closet that you can grab and go faster than you can countdown from 3 (ok, maybe that's a bit too fast).

I have teamed up with Rickis to come up with my own instant outfit. Although I love experimenting with colours and pattern, you can never go wrong with an all black outfit especially when your outfit needs to take you from desk to dinner. Take off the cardigan to display the crochet shoulder pattern and you're instantly ready for wherever the night decides to take you.

Rickis now wants to give YOU your own instant outfit! Simply share your take on an instant outfit on Instagram including at least one item from Rickis and hashtag your post #instantOOTD and #loverickis for your chance to win!

Good luck!

Prep In My Step

Blazer: Club Monaco // Skirt: Club Monaco // Heels: Tory Burch // Blouse: My Mama

In 7 days, I turn 28. That only leaves me with 2 years to accomplish my "before 30" list. Thankfully, I don't have dress more mature on that list. There are a lot of things I can't stop from aging, but I'm going to hold onto the things that I can. For example, dressing like a prep school student and wearing more than one item that has a bow on it. I'll take crow's feet over boring style any day.

Joggers

Pants: Banana Republic // Blazer: Forever 21 // Choker: Splurge Boutique // Lipstick: Mac Russian Red // Heels: Jimmy Choo //Sunglasses: RayBan

"Track pants? On a Monday?" is how I was greeted this morning as I walked into the office. Trying to bring trends into my work wardrobe is sometimes more challenging than balancing multiple projects. I'm just a girl who doesn't want to wear black pants and blouses every day. Pairing "jogger pants", which have been sported here (pun intended), with a blazer and heels is one way to be comfortable and trendy from 9-5.

If only business process mapping was a track and field sport..

60's Inspired

Skirt: Michael Kors // Sweater: Smart Set (RIP) // Boots: Call It Spring // Sunglasses: Celine

What goes around comes around: a Justin Timberlake song and a great way to describe fashion. Inspiration from past decades resurrects itself all the time even after we think something is officially dead. For example, I never thought flared pants would see day light again and now I am looking through the hoarder section of the closet to see if I could find a pair. This 60's inspired skirt is no different..although I replaced the go-go boots with some OTK suede guys.
