Let's start this by listing out statements that NO ONE SAYS EVER:

• Wow, that brown pant suit makes you look powerful, yet sassy.
• Those khaki shorts are making me wish I was a pocket.
• Is that a beige button up shirt?? So fun!! 

And if you know someone that has uttered those words, don't trust them..they are probably the type of people that wear workout sneakers out and about and ain't nobody got time for that.

So friends, lighten up, brighten up, and add some colour while you're young!

Dressing in the heat wave has been a flowy breezy experience, which always makes it interesting when a surprising gust of wind decides to give you a nudge. Silly pervy wind. And to go with this hot summer, I decided to lighten my hair! So here is my hair's attempt at a subtle ombre, thoughts?

Dresses, highlights, and colour. That's my heat wave style. What's my tip for you? When the heat waves, don't complain, just look cute and wave right back!...hi!

Disclaimer: What follows is cheesy, but sometimes it’s gouda happen.

I’m not usually the serious type or life lessons type, nor do I plan to be on this blog, but sometimes it’s freeing to put words up. You said it, it’s out there, you can’t back down now! I’ve been absent from this blog lately, wondering what to do with all of my lemons. Well the last lemon hit me in the head and offered up some clarity. Sometimes, lemons make you realize who’s there for you and who isn’t. Who cares and who doesn’t. Who’d fight for you and who isn’t worth fighting for.

A colleague told me today “if you want something – make it happen”. And that is exactly what I intend to do! I am squeezing that lemon on my salmon and making lemonade out of the rest. Each person is in charge of their own happiness. I am declaring this summer the summer of adventure! I want to do things that I have never done before and things that I never thought I would like. I want to go on a hike, be able to run 5km (I don’t care if it takes me all day), take a surfing lesson, golf, do something that scares me, and go somewhere I’ve never gone before.  

So let’s make that lemonade..and while we’re at it, why not make it pink lemonade!
